AI isn't going to go away.

A lot of people have seen the recent news about the shaky financial situation of OpenAI and rejoiced. "AI is finally about to die! Hooray!"

Do you know what happens to AI if OpenAI goes under? Not much. What if Google's AI efforts tank? Not much. What about Facebook? Not much, yet again.

AI is not only everywhere, but it's USEFUL. It WORKS. AMD and Nvidia have AI built into their graphics card drivers for the purposes of generated frames and up scaling. The video editing program I use, Davinci Resolve Studio, has multiple AI tools built in. AI is something you can run on your own system at home, I do this along with many others. This isn't something that dies if one or even multiple large corporations revolving around it go under.

And if you think studios that make movies, animation and games won't use it? You're nuts. People crying about generative AI on the Internet aren't going to mean anything once these institutions see just how much money it will save them. At best, they'll use these tools and just not tell you they're using them. It's going to save too much time and money, they won't avoid using it.

One of the saddest things I've seen is artists, who post fantastic art, using some kind of anti-AI thing to add weird patterns to their drawings to try and prevent AI from training on it. Congrats, you did it, the AI revolution is over. The whole technology is dead because you made your art look like hot garbage and ruined it for your fans. The whole thing hinged (HINGED, I say!) on using that one drawing you made. /s

It's not about being pro-AI, or anti-AI. It's reality. It doesn't matter what my opinion of the weather is, it's going to do what it's going to do. And if you disagree? You're just wrong.

I want to add that I don't believe AI will replace actual artists, I follow a ton of them and have paid for art to be made for me. Their art isn't going away and I don't want it to. I also follow a few accounts that post AI generated art. I pretty much like nice art and I don't care who or what makes it. The paranoia over this is, in my opinion, overblown.

Yeah, this was just me rambling a bit. It was too long for a post on X as I don't have a premium subscription to it or whatever.
